The archaeological park of Segesta, an important city of the Elymians, is a fascinating site located in the western part of Sicily.
Its main attraction is the 5th century B.C. Doric temple, one of the best preserved Doric temples in the world, despite the fact that it was never completed, probably due to the endless war between Segesta and Selinunte.
The temple, dedicated to Aphrodite Urania, stands majestically as if guarding this splendid archaeological site and has 36 imposing columns framing a breathtaking panorama.
Another attraction of Segesta is the Greek theatre, which is located on a hill and still has about 4,000 seats.
Even today, performances and plays are still staged in the theatre during the summer season, taking advantage of the acoustics.and performances taking advantage of the exceptional acoustics.

ERICE
Erice is a beautiful medieval town that, as some say, seems suspended between sky and sea.
It is famous for its narrow stone streets and spectacular views of the sea and the Egadi Islands.
The town has a long history dating back to the Elymians, an ancient population of Sicily and has been influenced by the Phoenicians, Greeks and Romans.
Here you will find the famous Castle of Venus, built in the 12th century by the Normans on the remains of an ancient temple dedicated to Venus Ericina, a deity once worshipped in this area.
Strolling through the village you can admire beautiful medieval churches including the beautiful 12th century cathedral.
Small shops sell souvenirs and others sell typical Sicilian sweets such as the delicious 'genovesi', short pastry cakes filled with cream.
The enchanted atmosphere, its spectacular views and the charm of its ancient streets make it a must-see destination for anyone visiting Sicily.
